Walking & Hiking
Enthralling trips for the whole family! Discover true freedom and magical wild landscapes with Louis Calvène.
In summer: Themed walks up the massif de Tabe, with amazing views over Montségur Castle and the main crest of the Pyrenees :
- half-day,
- full day (lake discovery)
- two day (hostel accommodation).
In winter: snow-shoeing trips :
- half-day,
- full day (lake discovery),
- two day (hostel accommodation).
The hikes are led by Louis Calvène, who provides commentary and information about :
- Fauna (Izards [the Pyrenean chamois]; marmots; royal eagles, lammergeyers -raptors)
- Flora (Pyrenean flowers and trees...)
- Glacier traces, presence of mankind, livestock rearing, including herds of sheep and cattle and the famous Merens horse
During these excursions, I try and share my passion by making you aware of the often simple way of life here, helping you realise that the mountains and nature are welcoming to us, and that we should behave like guests, and enjoy respecting the environment.
